Farmington Preservation & Improvement Organization provides the continuing tradition of hanging Christmas lights over the town during the Christmas season. We maintain and update the Town of Farmington's Christmas light system so there is no cost to the taxpayers. We are in the process of converting the old style bulbs with LED bulbs to provide more durability to the bulbs and provide energy savings to the town. We also make use of the poles year round by hanging seasonal banners to brighten the downtown and the front of our local businesses and organizations. We partnered with the Farmington Teacher's Association and the Jr. National Honor Society to include handmade ornaments in the downtown decor. The children also painted windows at the municipal office and a few businesses.
